Nina Nguyen Fall 2014 ‘Zen’ Jewelry Collection

zen blog 1

Nina’s Fall 2014 ‘Zen Collection’, inspired by her recent vacation in Bali, merges Zen with the Art of Geometric thinking.

More than just jewelry, the “Zen Collection,” is a lifestyle statement, created to reflect the belief that keeping it simple is key to a happier life. The “Zen Collection” combines curves, angles and gemstones in a visually stunning presentation which embraces Zen ideals of doing more with less, and elevates jewelry from a physical object to a spiritual experience.

Complementing the minimalist design, Nina chose amethyst, sand, black and snowy white druzy along with turquoise as the stone for this collection. Drawing from her love of nature and travel, Nina continues to design fashion-forward collections using all-natural stones.

All pieces of Nina Nguyen Designs ‘Zen Collection’ is now available for purchase from retail partners in the United States and abroad.

Emmy Red Carpet Style

Beautiful and funny, these girls are a deadly combination! TV’s funniest actresses stole the Red Carpet with their gorgeous gowns. Our Nina Nguyen Red Carpet Remix will revamp these hilarious yet elegant leading ladies with a Druzylicious™ finish.

Kaley Cuoco, of the Big Bang Theory, strutted the Red Carpet in a playful Monique Lhuillier dress with a delicate pink embroidered pattern. As a perfect canvas for color, we would pair up this bold red with the Turquoise Wisdom Necklace and toned down sparkly accents, Nimbus Stud Earrings and Nirvana Ring in White Druzy.

Modern Family star, Sarah Hyland, glided across the walkway in a Christian Siraiano flowing maxi coral skirt and a white crop top. This simple (but stunning!) outfit is the perfect opportunity to play up with our modern Yantra Earrings and Enlightened Turquoise Ring. To finish it off, the Rinehart Cuff in Black Druzy.

Outstanding Lead Actress In A Comedy Series nominee, Taylor Schilling, traded in her orange jumpsuit for a flattering and elegant Zuhair Murad Couture gown. This understated and timeless gown is a stunning match for our Pallas Druzy Bangles and Samsara Sand Druzy Earrings.

Earrings from Nina Nguyen Designs added sparkle to the outfit worn by country music star Miranda Lambert at the recent March 20, 2013 season 4 premiere of The Voice.
Lambert donned “Audrey” earrings from Nina Nguyen Design’s 2013 spring and summer line. Lambert paired them with a simple but elegant black dress when she joined her husband, Blake Shelton, at the event on March 20 at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. Shelton is a coach on The Voice.
Lambert is known for her fashion-forward style, which has been described as glamorous and girlish, but also edgy.
“Miranda is a style icon who is admired by women of all ages for her fashion sense and take-charge attitude,” said Nina. “We are excited that she chose to wear our Audrey earrings, which are fashion-forward in attitude, just like Miranda.”
The Audrey earrings retail for $295 and feature druzy suspended from an oxidized silver frame. Created naturally over millions of years, druzy stones are tiny quartz crystals that form when ground water carries natural minerals across an area of rock and rapidly cools.
Druzy and other earth-conscious materials are showcased in Nguyen’s spring and summer 2013 line. Many of the pieces include fossilized and mineralized stones that slowly develop through natural processes. Nguyen’s favorite raw materials are geodes, stalactites and fossilized ammonites.
Each piece is designed by Nina in her Colorado studio and expertly handcrafted at Nina Nguyen Studio, her women’s cooperative in Vietnam. Nguyen’s creations are sold at jewelry stores and boutiques in more than 30 states and internationally, and have been featured in Lucky, Shape and The Knot, and on ABC’s Good Morning America and NBC’s Today show.

Apart from supporting her husband at his show’s season debut, Miranda has an impressive resume of her own. She gained famed when she became a finalist on Nashville Star and then signed to a major record company- where she immediately released three Top 20 hits. Since 2001 Miranda has release 5 albums and won multiple awards including most recently Country Music Association (CMA) 2012 Female Vocalist of the Year.

When she is not wowing the crowd with her relatable and powerful music, Miranda with her fashion forward style, is a fashion icon. On February 21 2013, Miranda appeared as a guest on Project Runaway; where competitors were challenged to design her both a show stopping performance look and a red carpet look. Her fashion forward style makes her the perfect match for Nina Nguyen! We love that our bold jewelry is perfect for her powerful and independent personality!

Located along the banks of Vietnam’s Perfume River is the Thien Mu pagoda, a 17th century Buddhist temple touted as one of the country’s most beautiful structures. Vietnam is also the birthplace of featured jewelry designer Nina Nguyen.

Who says expensive jewelry is the best jewelry out here?  Don’t get me wrong, plenty of high-end jewelry brands are gorgeous!

On the other hand, in my opinion fashion jewelry designers like Americans Melinda Raney of Melinda Maria Jewelry and Wendy Culpepper, German brand Bastian InverunHovey Lee (China) and Aya Azrielant (Israel) have their finger on the pulse of the everyday woman.

They understand that she is not a celebutante or jet setter.  They know that she is someone who is often pressed for time and money.  They recognize that she is someone who would love to indulge in what is fashionable without hurting her pocketbook.

Florida-based Nguyen is among the growing number of jewelry designers who create stunning, quality pieces at affordable prices.  Nguyen’s brand, Nina Nguyen Designs, is informed by worldwide travels and the hands-on experience its designer acquired during visits with her goldsmith uncle.

“In 2004, after a trip to India, I decided to change my career path from working in the financial industry to starting a jewelry design firm.  My collections including Hoi-Anand Sai-Gon are carefully handcrafted by skilled artisans in my company’s Women’s Co-Operative in Vietnam.Nguyen excels at delicate and buoyant designs that highlight varied textures and colors within pared down outlines of lush 22-karat gold plated sterling silver.  There are beautiful pendant necklaces, leather wrap bracelets, multi-strand necklaces and gemstone earrings showcasing briolette cuts of moonstone, blue topaz, labradorite, peridot, rose quartz, pink tourmaline and raw druzy and geodes.

It gives me much pleasure to contribute to the beauty of women. My hope is that every woman will enjoy wearing my jewelry as much as I enjoy designing each and every piece.””My jewelry is a reflection of my spirit. I design each piece to be unique, feminine and stylish. I envision my pieces empowering the wearer.

Weight Watchers – January/February 2012

Even though most of us swore “be healthy” would remain at the top of our New Year’s Resolution list, it can be pretty hard to do it by yourself. If you need a little motivation, you can start with some retail therapy by picking up the January/February issue of Weight Watchers magazine with cover-girl Jennifer Hudson.
